Neoplasm Type Signs & Treatment

neoplasm types

Neoplasm is define as formation of excessive cell in body which result in tumor or nodules in skin.

Neoplasm can be benign of malignant.

Neoplasm grows even after removing the cessation of the stimuli which tend to cause change in normal cells.

Cause

The exact cause is not known.

Long term chronic injury such as DM or Ulcer cause tissue inflammation and irritation of normal cell which provoked cellylar changes and mutation.

  • UV Radiation & Sun Rays

Ultraviolet radiation and sun rays cause damage to body tissue and cell. Long term exposure to body further causes mutational change in cell lead to cause neoplasm.

  • Obesity

Obesity causes high fatty tissues and cells which alter metabolic process. Long term metabolic error and stimulation to tissue causes mutation in normal cell.

  • Certain dietary factors ex. meat

Duetary factor such as meat, hot tea, coffe are if taken excessively lead to irritate normal cell. Long term stimulation lead to growth of neoplasm in body.

  • Viral or bacteria infection

Bacterial infection can increase risk of neoplasm in body.

  • Autoimmune disorders

Autoimmune disorder is condition in which body own immune cell attack own body cell. It causes severe inflammation and tisue damage. It further increase chance of developing neoplasm.

Other risk factors are,

  • Smoking
  • Alcohol
  • Chronic ulcers
  • Throat infection
  • Diabetic mellitus
  • Inflammation

Type of Neoplasm

Neoplasm is categorized into two ways, benign (non cancerous) and malignant neoplasm (cancerous neoplasm).

Benign Neoplasm

Benign neoplasm is define as non-cancerous extra cell growth developed in solid tumors.

They remain in body tissues as extra palpable tumor which does not harm the body.

Benign tumor does not injured normal body cell and they do not migrate in the body.

Benign tumors relates with parent cell having different function.

Characteristics of Benign Neoplasm

Benign neoplasm is refer as abnormal growth od tissues and cells without having purpose and cells are not likely to harm body tissues.

  • Uncontrolled cell growth

Benign tumor grows slowly in the body. They grow without body needs and represent purposeless tumor or palpable nodules in skin.

  • Have structure appearance

Benign tumor have define shape and size. They resemble their parent cell in structure with differentiated functions.

  • Purposeless and harmless

Benign tumor grow and form in body without clear function. They grow and develop into tumor which further obstruct other body organ and their function.

  • Stick together

Benign together forms same protein over cell surface. It help them to bind together in nodule structure surround by fibrous tissues which make them bind together.

  • Do not metastasize

Bening tumor forms and remain at one place they dont have ability to migrate and spread in body.

Malignant Neoplasm

Malignant neoplasm has ability form excessively and spread to other body part.

They have continuous growth does not have any function but are able to invade and damge normal cell and tissues.

Malignant neoplasm is also called as cancer cells.

Characteristics of Malignant Neoplasm

  • Different structure than parent cell

Malignant neoplasm has completely different structure than origin cell. Their origin is difficult to diagnose. They had large nucleus compare to normal and benign cell.

  • Different functions

Malignant cells does not have similar structure and have no function in body.

  • Bind loosely

Malignant cells are different to each other and alos they does not secrete same proteins, therefore they do not bind with each other or bind loosely.

  • Metastasis

Malignant cell are loosely bound with each other so they are able detached from each other and travel in body via blood and lymph flow.

  • Divide abnormally

Cancer cell can divide themselves in any area of the body. Their growth is not restricted by contact inhibition by other cell.

Symptom

Neoplasm is generally has no sign and symptoms. Benign neoplasm result in tumor formation which is palpable on skin such as nodule under skin. Malignant neoplasm is treated as cancer cell. They further damage body tissue and cell.

Diagnosis

  • Complete Blood Count Test

CBC test is done to check quantity of blood cells in body. It check presence of malignant cell in blood and other blood chemistry.

  • Tissue biopsy

Tissue biopsy involve removal of tisues where cancer cell appear and then investigate for benign and malignant cell.

  • Thoracocentasis

Thoracocentesis involve removing fluid from chest for checking neoplasm cells.

  • MRI & CT Scan

It is performed to visualize body surface for neoplasm cells and tissues.

Treatment

There is no treatment acailable for benign neoplasm. They are either remove via surgery or they can be in body unless they harm the host body.

Malignant tumors are treated as cancer cells are treated by surgical removal of cancer cells, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

  • Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy involve use of anti-cancer drug to kill neoplasm cells.

  • Radiation therapy

Radiation therapy involve high frquency light rays on affected area. It break the tumor and kill cancer cells

  • Surgery

Surgery is use to remove neoplasmic cells from the body in early neoplasm. It is performed to prevent their further growth.
