Antileprotic Drugs: Mechanism of Action
Leprosy is infectious disease caused by mycobacterium leprae. Leprosy result in sever nerve damage, loose skin, and muscle wasting.
Anti-leprotic use against mycobacterial leprae to treat leprosy.

Mechanism of action
It block synthesis of DNA gyrase which block chromosomal coil formation. It also inhibits the peptide formation essential for amino acid chain formation. Antileprotic drug block both actions to stop the multiplication of bacteria and genetic death of bacteria occur.
Side-Effects
Antileprotic drug side effects are nausea, dehydration, skin rashes, fever, taste disorder and disturbing behavior.
