Under-five clinics are small hospitals designed for children below 5-year babies. It is an western model of hospital providing immunization, care and nutrition to newborn babies. It is created to decrease mortality and morbidity rate among newborn baby.

Under five clinics were classified in 5 main parts,
  1. Care in illness
  2. Nutrition
  3. Immunization
  4. Family planning
  5. Health education

Care in illness

In this area, under-five clinics were aim to decrease common illness arises due to malnourishment, nutrition defiency and poor hygiene.

Under Care in illness it provide aid & assist during following illness,

  • Constipation and diarrhea 
  • Common neonatal problems 
  • Malnourishment 
  • Congenital abnormality 
  • Bone deformity 
  • Hearing problems 
  • Nervous system problem

Nutrition

Nutritious services given by under-five clinics are,

  • Provide weaning food
  • Measure and monitor the height & weight of babies 
  • Decrease PEM and malnutrition 
  • Identify developmental delay and nourishment problems
  • Manage the growth of nutrition among newborn and children


Family planning  & health education

    In this, people get educated on, 
    • Contraceptive use 
    • Health education on family planning & birth spacing
    • Psychological support to mothers
    • Awareness on use of pills

    Immunization:-

    The under-five clinic provide immunization to prevent infection and develop natural immunity to baby.

    Systole means contraction of heart muscles. It occurs after diastole relaxation of blood vessels. Similar word for systol is squeeze.  WHAT IS MEANING OF SYSTOLE?     Acute respiratory distress syndrome is a spectrum of symptoms that arise due to severe respiratory dysfunction. It commonly occurs due to chronic infection in lung, muscle spasm, and secondary pulmonary diseases such as pneumonia, ARDS is characterized by severe breathing difficulty, respiratory failure, severe hypoxia. ARDS patient is treated in a hospital emergency ward. Common treatments is artificial ventilation and curing the underlying cause of ARDS. ARDS can complicate other disease conditions such as respiratory failure, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, multiple organ failure.
